  1. I think you are right. I have written the board an email for this and get back some answer. Although it is not very clear yet. That's why I am thinking maybe someone here knows about the anwser. Thanks anyway~
  2. I am currently a license Structural Engineer of Hawaii State and I am planning to relocate to Seattle maybe next year with my husband. I passed the FE in 2005 and 16 hour NCEES SEI and SEII exam in 2008. Does anyone know that if I can get PE or SE license by comity in Washington State? The website of Washington engineering license says:http://www.dol.wa.gov/business/engineerslandsurveyors/engapply-comity.html Licensing requirements If you’re licensed in another state and want a Professional Engineer license in Washington, you must: Be currently licensed in a U.S. state or other Washington board-approved jurisdiction. If you don’t have a current license from an approved jurisdiction, you must apply by exam to get a license in Washington. Have at least 8 year of Washington board-approved engineering experience. Have passed the Professional Engineer (PE) exam. Have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) exam. You can apply to waive the EIT exam if you have: An approved degree in engineering and 12 years of verifiable experience. or A Ph.D. in engineering from a program approved by the board. [*]Pass the Washington Law and Ethics exam. Is the SE1 and SEII considering as a PE exam? Or I have to take a civil engineering PE exam? Thanks!

    Passed SEI and SEII!

Well, I felt the same way too. SE II is easier somehow. I guess the main reason is for those who already spent a lot of time on SEI, the ability of analysis problems and interpret codes is getting better anyway. If I start review SEII directly, I will still think it is not an easy exam. The good thing about SEII is the time is not as stressful as SEI. I can have more chance to go over my notes and books and understand what is going on so as to be more confident about answering questions. By the way, I spent about 80 hours for SEI review in April exam and about 120 hours for both SEI and SEII in Oct. exam. For me (not so smart anyway), I really think 200 hours review is worth and necessary. Best wishes to other SE exam takers!

  7. I finally got my results after such a long waiting. I passed both of SEI and SEII! Yeah! It was my second time for SEI and first time for SEII. Even though the morning session of SEI almost got me. I really thought I might fail again. I want to say thank you to this board. It is really nice and warm to have such a forum to go! As a mother-to-be this year (shhh! Didn't tell the boss either of the good news yet), I feel really happy that I don't have to study regularly anymore! Thank God!!!! Cheers!

  10. Well, all I need to do is wait then... Thanks.
  11. You know, this Thursday is my Birthday, I really want to have a good one. However, I am still waiting for my SEI result. I called Hawaii board, and they said since SEII result is not in yet, they can't release the result for SEI either. Who knows when SEII result will be released? Is there anyway I can get my result sooner? I wish God will give me a good birthday gift...
  12. This is the first time I took SE1. I planed to take the test at least half year ago, always found a lot of excuse not to study. I can't focus myself until a month before the test. Totally I spent like 110 hour total to review. I tried hard and solved 90% the problems in the exam, although I really not sure if I could pass. It was a very intense one. Most of the questions need you to do calculation, only very few of them that you can answer by just take a look and make some judgment. I heard some people said the style is totally different from the past years. Although it is my first time, I felt same way from comparing the sample questions with the test. I guess NCEES is trying to test more analysis ability this time. There are some many problems related to statics!!! During my review, i really feel that the reference books for structural field is very limited. I studies most of the 6 minutes problems, and half of the problems in the Structural Manual. I really feel they are not the best, although I believe no other book in the same field can be better. Before the exam, I really want to create a blog to share my good/bad experience (not only SE exam but also daily working) as well as to learn from all visitors. Now, the exam is over, I became lazy again. I guess I will give a try soon, hope some of you guys will come to visit my blog when I have it eventually.
