  1. Nice to see a good DSM reference on the board.
  2. I have to admit I am a little biased; possibly due the brewery being located right down the road. That being said, I enjoy many different types of beers and RIS is not my cup of tea either. I prefer a good IPA any day and while visiting the brewpub, I usually drink their guest beers on tap. Dark Lord is a special brew however, especially the variations they do not bottle. You better believe I'll buy my limit and enjoy throughout the year for those special occasions. Although I do not completely agree with the "Golden Ticket" idea, the brewery/event has become so popular, 3F had to do something. Of course there are problems with mass produced beers that effect their "ratings," but I personally pay little attention to avid beer nerd reviews, whether it be ratebeer, beeradvocate, etc... That all being said, maybe some people will chime in who are actually going to the event; knowing it is not all about the DL. You get to meet so many different people, enjoy great food, beer, music and surprising no rif raf. Rumor has it....this year's DL will be 15% ABV and a whopping 700 calories/bottle!
  3. I was wondering if any of you beer enthusiasts out there plan on attending the event this year... Dark Lord Day 2010 takes place on Sat, April 24th. http://www.darklordday.com/ Dark Lord Day is the only day of the year to buy Three Floyds Dark Lord Russian Imperial stout. DLD is a festival where participants can meet other beer enthusiasts, sample beers from all over the world, buy Dark Lord, try Oak Aged Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout, eat BBQ, listen to live music, and generally have a great time. Do you have your "Golden Ticket(s)"? Discuss...
  4. I took the course and passed the first time with Transportation. I had some time left on my membership so let a friend review the material who had failed twice before and he passed. The content will definately overprepare you for the exam, especially for transportation. The price for the full package has skyrocketed over the past couple of years.
  5. I do not know the details of your case, but you probably were not convicted of your DUI. If you pled guilty, and it was a first offense you probably had to pay a fine, go to alcohol classes, and or community service, or others. Then if you completed all the court asked in the given time, the "misdemenor" was dropped to probation for probably a year. I would imagine this was similiar, although you were underage. I would not even mention it.
  6. I have a degree in General Engineering from Illinois. I have been working in civil since I graduated, and just passed the PE with transportation. I took a review course (PEreview.net) and passed on the first try. Just do enough practice problems and you will be fine.
  7. I took the FE my senior year in college, and passed on the first attempt. I graduated as a General Engineer from Illinois, and sort of fell into Civil Engineering. I basically learned everything with on the job training, and just passed the civil PE with transportation. I took some basic CE classes in college, but ironically no trans. I took a PE review course (PEreview.net) and passed on the first try. I studied for about 3-4 months, and did tons of practice problems.
  8. I received my certificate in the mail today. Does anybody know how to get the large "diploma" type certificate?
  9. I took it in Hillside (West Chicago) with 3 others, and we all have "closed" results
  10. It may depend on the location of where you actually took the test. Good luck!
  11. 25th post..... Passed Civil/Trans
  12. So after we get issues our license number, what is next? Besides ordering a stamp, which I will probably never use, are there any additional fees or paperwork to complete?
