  1. I know the feeling same here, I got 47/80 second try... I do not know if I should keep trying on geotech, although I have to say that what I have not being able to do is because I did not study it in detail... I definitely need to apply mysef and get this done, at least I saw a big improvement from my first time. I have the following references: NCEES Geotechnical Module excersice book. Geotechnical Engineering: Principles and Practices Donald P. Coduto Foundation Design: Principles and Practices (2nd Edition) Donald P. Coduto CERM (Just as a last minute reference) I am using my notes from college, also. My worst subjects were the ones shown on the diagnostic (10-14). I am not sure if you have been studying very hard or just not enogth like me but its kind of dificult to change subjects at this point.. I would say you seem to be on the right track, and I guess I will plan next time to answer hopefully 28/40 or more if I can to see if I can pass (easier said than done).. I have to also worry about seismic and surveying cause I am in CA. GOOD LUCK NEXT TIME!!!!
  2. Hi.. I am wondering if you have any recomendations on what reference material to use for the geotech afternoon part. I took the test and I did not pass .. I did an excellent job in the morning, but I did very bad in like 5 topics of the afternoon. The percentages were great in the morning and not too bad In the afternoon but I still did not pass, so maybe next time I can finally answer correctly a couple of more questions and get those extra points I need to actually pass it. I was thinking of changing to other dicipline for october but I am not sure if this is a good idea since I already have spend money and time preparing for geotech What was your impression of the test this time?
  3. I am confused on how to determine the critical depth of piles. I see that is something I need calculate, if I want to find Q tip and Q friction. I have read in some of my notes that I need to take 50% of the pile length in other notes 10D, 20D etc. I am not really sure which one is it. Also I see the beta, alpha and lambda method to solve for friction, but do I need them all or they should give me the same answer? If anybody has any information appreciated. Thanks
  4. I will try the Ruwan book and see if it helps...Appreciate the feedback from all of you
  5. LOL, sorry I was not shouting.... I am taking the geotec module in the afternoon, but I need to have additional reference material for the construction breadth section in the morning since I didn't do good in october on that part..
  6. ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS ON STUDY MATERIALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION BREADTH SECTION? I FAILED THE TEST IN OCTOBER AND ONE OF THE SECTIONS I HAD MORE PROBLEMS WAS CONSTRUCTION. I WENT TO THE EXAM WITH THE CERM AND SOME ADDITIONAL NOTES ON THIS TOPIC, BUT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH. THERE WERE QUESTIONS ON THE EXAM ABOUT FORMWORK FOR EXAMPLE THAT I COULDN'T REALLY ANSWER, AND I KNOW THEY WERE PROBABLY SUPER EASY IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.... THANKS
  7. hello everyone, I am wondering how much of the NAVFAC design manuals should I look up for the exam. The first time I saw this was during my PE review, and during the exam I carry the design manuals with me but didn't really used them. That is probably why I did not pass. I do not know where should I start with them. Anyone has any idea, which sections should I review for the test if any??? Thanks
  8. Hello, I am in the process of retaking my PE in April. ? I am wondering if anybody has any recommendations on study materials for the construction breath part. I only have Lindeburg CERM manual right now and a few additional study material from a review. I need to get an additional reference for the test since what I curretly have was clearly not enough. Any suggestions or ideas on this? Thanks ?
