  1. lol. I had the same question. Just leave it blank, or write "unknown". Upon filling out the application for the first time, you won't yet have a state ID number. After you apply, and receive back your postcard, your ID No. will be on there. It will be a 5-digit number (as opposed to the 10 digit NCEES number). The form should be more clear. I called the board about this. You're supposed to leave it Blank.
  2. Hi... I just got my stamp today in the mail. I specifically told the manufacturer to leave the expiration date blank. This might be a silly question, but is it the norm to keep the "Exp. on _________" under our name even though the new rule says we don't have to have our license's expiration date on our stamp? Thanks, CA_PE Changes to Laws Regarding Inclusion of Expiration Date on Engineering and Land Surveying DocumentsAssembly Bill 645, which is effective on January 1, 2010, amends Sections 6735, 6735.3, 6735.4, 6764, 8750, 8761, and 8764.5 of the Business and Professions Code so that Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors are no longer required to include the expiration date of the licenses when they sign and seal their engineering and land surveying documents nor are they required to include the expiration date in their stamp or seal. Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors may still choose to include their expiration dates if they wish; however, they are no longer required by the laws to do so. The 2010 versions of the Professional Engineers Act and the Professional Land Surveyors' Act, which are available on this website, have been updated to reflect these changes. I just answered my own question.... and You're Welcome!
  3. That's true in a way. Before I got my PE, I always felt intimidated by engineers with PE but never with inspectors, testers , non-engineers. I always think that if I was prepared enough (project related) I can go toe to toe with anyone. :mf_followthroughfart:

I got my certificate today too; North Bay. Not the card yet. My friend passed last year and only got the card after the first renewal. Me too! I was expecting a card in the envelope as well but no luck. But I did get my stamp the same day. Anyone else get their stamp? Mine still says "Exp. on_______" how about you guys? Should I get it replaced?

  6. Hi, I did the same thing u did the first time I took the exam. I was completely blown away by the depth and difficulty of the problems compared to what I studied in the cuomo/120 questions/samples exams. Lesson that everyone should learn is that those books are absolutely rubbish. They will not help anyone pass that test because the contents are outdated in regards to what was on the test. I suggest buying Reza's handbook. It will save you grief in the future.
  7. Hiner's book is really good. Read it cover to cover. I passed seismic cuz of it.
  8. I took geotechnical too even though my field is structural. I did everything you did and I passed the 8hour exam and the seismic exam(California) last October. I just got my surveying exam results last week and I passed that too. The key is to practice doing all the problems you can get your hands on and at the same time improve your time. Time is your worst enemy during these exams.
