I attended the NCSU review course (worth every penny) and these are questions that were passed out. covers AM (48 questions) and PM (40 questions for EACH module, exc Construction). Again, not trying to profit, and I'm not making copies in order to profit, just making room and moving them along to the next owner. $50 Civil Engineering All-In-One PE Exam Guide - Indranil Goswami. bttt a couple of these items may be on their way out the door very soon.
  5. I passed in October 2011! I took advantage of finding used books and saved myself a ton of money, and I want to pass along the same to others. I cross-checked prices found on the same items being sold on this site and on amazon. In most cases my prices are a few bucks cheaper, in an effort to get these materials out of my house! 6. Is it: bank dry density / compacted dry density or compacted dry density / bank dry density I have a couple of sources that say bdd/cdd and I have one that says cdd/bdd*. Just in common sense terms, shrinkage factors are typically 0.8-1.0, and for soil, compacted dry density is going to be higher bank dry density, so using typical shrinkage factors of <1, the compacted dry density should be in the denominator and bdd/cdd should be correct. *the one source is the new construction afternoon depth reference that came out this summer.
  7. Construction Depth Reference Manual

i'd love to know the same!
  8. NCEES recommends Standard Practice for Bracing Masonry Walls Under Construction for the Construction Depth... Most places I look for this book secondhand are selling it for $100 or more (amazon right now has 2 sellers, starting at nearly $170!!!) However, if you go through more "official" outlets such as NCMA.org, masoncontractors.org, or masonryinstitute.org, the standard can be purchased for only $50... is this the same reference? am I missing something? if it's the same, why are most people selling used copies for 3x the amount of a new book?
  9. Civil PE (construction module)

so are there other references on reshoring that people have used? thanks.
  10. I want to BUY PE books

I am in the process of gathering materials for the PE exam... Does anyone highly recommend an engineering dictionary for Civil, and if so, which one? There are several available out there, just wondering which dictionary most people found to be useful.
  11. The latest Construction depth Exam specifications notes that the largest portions of the exam will be: 17.5% - Estimating Quantities and Takeoffs (quantity take-off, cost estimating, engineering economics) 17.5% - Scheduling (sequencing, CPM network analysis, activity time analysis, resource scheduling and time-cost trade-off) What study materials have most found helpful for these topics? I have not registered for the PE exam yet, nor do I have any materials/books at the moment. I am planning on doing so later this year or perhaps early next year, but I am trying to learn as much as I can now. Thanks in advance for your help.
