Good to know! I'll keep in mind if we need MA or NV.....
  2. I agree guys, thanks for all the support over the years of exams!! Mc Engr, I truly hope the career turns around. I am amazed how under appreciated and underpaid structural engineers are for the amount of risk our job entails. Although, at this point I am like many others and just thankful to even have a job!!
  3. Thanks, I don't think I'm ready for the commitment of a DSLR, I just want something easy to use that takes fabulous photos. I find myself using the "action" or "sports" mode of a camera as a default as it blurs the least. My most important goal is to capture the moment. Many of my friends and family have cameras that delay just a bit when you take the photos, so they almost never capture the moment they intended to. If I could find a camera equal to my Kodak DX7440 i woul be very happy, and it was just 4 MP. It took great photos in every situation, the attached photos are both on auto setting taken on horseback. I've seen a lot of good reviews on the Cannon Powershot S95 and the Nikon Coolpix S8100 (for photos, but bad reviews on video, which I don't care about) Where is the best place to ask questions on specific camera models? Best Buy? Online? THANKS!
  4. Hi all, Apparently we have some talented photographers in the group! However, I am not in that group and need some help picking out the right camera. I am looking for point and shoot that balances all the important things including: kids and pets, low light, fill flash in the daylight. When I press the button, I expect the camera to take the photo NOW, or you miss the important moment with kids especially! Also, I am an avid horseback rider, we pack into the mountains and all that jazz, so it has to be durable and take a lickin' and take a good photo when my horse isn't quite still. I had a Kodak EasyShare DX7440 that I absolutely loved until my husband spilled beer on it so now the shutter is stuck open!! I am not impressed by MP's, most of my photos stick to 4x6 or 5x7 size. The other items above are way more important! Also, must be easy to use! What would you recommend? Below is the black friday list at Best Buy for this year.... Anything I should take note of? THANKS!! 5. Just got my registration back from AZ, it too 3 months WITH an NCEES record.... Applied for North Carolina in mid October and got that back within 2 weeks, before the AZ paperwork I had sent in on July 31st! Which states took the longest for you?
  6. Hi all, Looking for a little advice here. We are a Design Build firm doing work for the Federal Government. Our contracts now include that we have to submit a Bentley BIM model with our projects. We, like many A/E's, are familiar with AutoCAD and Revit, so we have been subing our Microstation model out. This is extremely costly and we would like to bring it back in house. We have had in-house Microstation training and plan to send some of our drafters to courses offered by Bentley, but what I really think we need is to have a qualified training company come to our office for 2 weeks and set a project up with us, be available for questions and then return for a few days in a month or so for some follow up training. Do you have any recommendations on firms that do this WELL? We are in located Wisconsin. Hey, if you know anyone with extensive Microstation/Bentley Architecture and Structure experience looking for a job, let me know!! THANKS!! Knelli

  8. MiniNelli is 16 mos now. Of course, riding horses is our thing and she has ridden in the arena for 10 minutes at a time. Last night we took her on the trail for the first time. She was so cute, had to hold the reins the whole time. The funniest thing is that she was super crabby before the ride and nothing but smiles while we were riding. She also insists on holding the lead rope while we lead the horses back to the pasture. She knows her animal sounds, every time she hears a horse whinny she repeats it. Any time I say "turkey" as in "eat your turkey" she gobbles like a turkey, ROTFLMAO!
  9. Thanks Kevo for your continued support and advice, it is much appreciated, especially to those of us who have limited mentors! Did you manage to take the SIII? I am in the "happy to have a job" wagon.... They have been wonderful to me here, allowing me to go to a flexible schedule since having a baby (she's 14 mos now)... base is 24 hrs a week, but I work more when I have to, like now when we have a bunch of proposals going out, so I am hourly and do get overtime over 40. But when I have a slow week, I can just work M-W and spend the rest of the week with my little girl with no guilt! I think I would ask for a raise if I was salaried and working crazy hours like a lot of guys and gals here.... Thanks again to everyone here for the continued advice and support!
  10. Great job RM-270, dr matthe and Mike!! No more studying!! For now, unless you plan on taking the SIII..... ! Anyone expecting a raise for passing? Don't expect one here, but they did give me a nice gift card to a salon! Everyone here has been supportive!
  11. Just passed the S2 Exam.... Since I'm already a PE, no raise for me.... However, I did get a $100 gift cert to a salon and will be reimbursed the $745 for the test! And I get to keep my job
  12. MN results in the mail today..... I PASSED I PASSED I PASSED!!!!! Thank goodness, do not have to study for this again! Good luck and congrats to the rest!
  13. CONGRATULATIONS STRUCTURAL WARRIOR!!! Hopefully will find out this week here.........
  14. No mail here yet .... PE results were several days after Illinois websites, so maybe by Friday
  15. I hear you - I'm leaving for Montana over the weekend for several weeks, so hopefully we know before we leave, or it will be July 21st before we're back to civilization.... Maybe we won't know till then anyway!
