Here's what I did on Saturday:

CCotR = Camaro Club of the Rockies.

My car is the one at the top of the O.

Is the club exclusive to the 5th generations? I don't see any earlier models in there.

The vast majority are 5th gens, and we don't really have much interest from anyone NOT driving a 5th. Plus the club was established on a 5th gen owner's forum...

You won't see anything older than a 2010 in the pic because that's all who showed up.

I've had pretty good success with the replanting. You would have better success being in the clay, it's just a much bigger PITA to dig it up. With the sandy soil down here the root balls don't stay together very well so I had two plants that don't look like they'll survive the transplant, but I'm extremely cheap frugal so I attempt to reuse whatever I can.

Yep. Apparently the clay soil is good nutrient-wise, but I had to cut most of the main roots to get them out (root balls weighed a f*cking TON.) Now I have no choice but to rent a tiller to turn up all that stuff, it's impossible to do by hand.

I used to have a nice Troy Built self propelled tiller when I was in Atlanta which I used on the clay soil. I gave it to my brother that lives in Concord, NC when I moved down to Charleston. My maternal grandmother has a Mantis so when I started rehabbing landscape a couple of months ago I called her to see if I could borrow it. She told me it was in a shed in her back yard and she apparently hadn't cranked it in 4 years. I spent about 45 minutes repairing it (carb rebuild, fuel filter/line replacement, etc.) and it started on the second pull. Afterwards my grandmother told me to keep it. That's all I really need for the soil down here. The only thing that gums it up are the roots from my gigantic live oak tree.

I had a little fun with a HR guy when I left the utility. They had declared July 4th a "Regular Work Day". We would be paid OT but were expected to be there.

HR Guy: We'll just take care of the final forms Friday.
Flyer: Friday is a company holiday. I'm not going to be here.
HR Guy: Friday has been declared a Regular Work Day. You're required to show up.
Flyer: What are you going to do, put a letter in my file, maybe have me fired? My "I Quit" paperwork has a nearly two-week lead on your "You're Fired" paperwork.

The look on his face was priceless.

This would be somewhat hilarious were it not for the fact that those fucking asshole rulers squandered $850 million dollars on this. I heard on the radio this morning that's enough money to feed everyone in that country for 3 years.

Anyone have recommendations for recovering from a strained quad muscle? I pulled it during my softball game Friday night and it's still sore as $#!+. I applied icy-hot to it after the game and again the next morning, took ibuprofen to help with swelling/soreness, and got a neoprene compress to wear for future activities.

I've heard, with tapeworms, your sposed to wait until morning in the shower... when it's all steamy and warm, grab their head as they "come out" and whind them up on a pencil. Can't for the life of me remember where I've heard this, so don't ask. And no, this is not from experience... just a random thought....

Boss is having me create a sample construction inspection log for training purposes. I was trying to figure out what names to use for supes, laborers, etc. without offending anyone ("Why does this fake company only employ people with Hispanic names?" blah blah) so I figured humor would be the best way to keep people from complaining. Here were my ideas:

Superintendent - Al O'Vercy
Operators - Bach Ho, Skip Loder
Laborers - Ben Worken, Juan Moore
Confined Space Inspectors - Hugo Down, Wilma Asfit
Certified Payroll Accountant - Hiram Undertable

That got overruled and we're now using John Doe 1, John Doe 2, et al. Oh well.

I've seen those plenty of times before. I've heard them called hammerhead worms or shovel head worms. Usually you only see them when it's been raining a lot. To my knowledge they are not a threat to anything other then snails, slugs and other worms.

good to know that I'm not the only person who has seen them, I have purchased a significant amount of things from the garden center over the last week, for both indoor and outdoor, so I'm just going to keep my eye out and look into purchasing some orange oil because one of the sites I found said you can get rid of them that way.
