when I glance to the bottom and it says 9 users are reading this topic and it only has three of our names... you know, that kind of just disturbs me a bit...

Interesting...

I'm pretty sure that guests couldn't access the shoot the breeze forum under the old format, but it appears they can now. I wonder if RG knows about this?

I was just trying to figure out if we were that amusing...or if all my stalkers found my one safe place :)

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.

A healthy and well mini-MS #2 was born last Monday and my Grandma was called home Saturday night. She's in a better place and is no longer suffering. It was just a matter of time as we all knew it was coming and we all knew she was ready.

Just a reminder to remember those you love, even if you rarely see them.

And thanks for the perspective on today...I've been whining about my kids' team sports all day. Makes that seem small.

Going to a buddy's house this weekend for a poker tournament on Saturday. I have just been informed that we are going to play Battle Shots on Friday night. A bunch of guys are going to build wooden boat/shot holders and a board this week. This could be a long weekend.

If you have time, I suggest doing the Hour of Power. Take one shot of beer each minute for an hour. Doesn't sound bad, but when you're halfway, the end feels far away.

We're engineers. Shot (cheap one) is 1 oz. 60 minutes/hr =- 60 oz/hr = (5) 12oz. beers/hr. = (typically) a pretty good buzz.

In college I made a music video compilation where the music video switched every minute for 60 minutes. And every time it switched, you took a shot of whatever you were drinking. :beerchug:

Yeah, I did Century Club twice while I was in college...once with every 10th shot being of Captain Morgan's. I don't remember much after #60 or so either night.

I think we are doing BattleShots with all beer with 1 or 2 "bonus" shots of something else.

My parents told me years ago that they decided to have a child (me) after my grandmother went into a depression after my grandfather died. Figured they were planning on having a kid and might as well announce the good news to boost her spirits.

Why are Pakastanis obsessed with cricket? Seriously it took some UK troops about an hour to explain the game to me and I still didn't understand how it's played. BFBS has got some pretty good sports though.

^Probably for the same reason Indians are obsessed with it. . . .which I'm guessing comes from the British occupation of India.

Cricket does sound like the most complicated game ever. . .it makes a NASCAR race seem short in comparison.

RETIRED HUSBAND

After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target.

Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women - she loves to browse.

Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter from the local Target:

Dear Mrs. Corby
Over the past 2 weeks, your husband has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against your husband, Mr. Corby , are listed below and are "documented by our video surveillance cameras":

1. June 15: He took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in other people's carts when they weren't looking.

2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 7: He made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.

4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, 'Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away'. This caused the employee to leave her assigned station and receive a reprimand from her Supervisor that in turn resulted with a union grievance, causing management to lose time and costing the company money.

5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&Ms on layaway.

6. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

7. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told the children shoppers they could come in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department to which twenty children obliged.

8. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' EMTs were called.

9. September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.

10. September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.

11. October 3: Darted around the Store suspiciously while loudly humming the 'Mission Impossible' theme.

12. October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his 'Madonna look' by using different sizes of funnels.

13. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!'

14. October 22: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed the fetal position and screamed 'OHNO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!

15. Took a box of condoms to the checkout clerk and asked where is the fitting room?

And last, but not least:

16. February 9: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, and then yelled very loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in here.'

One of the clerks passed out.

surprisingly I can take my left one out with my left hand faster and easier than my right side...but I am right handed which makes no sense. I think the lady sat with me for half an hr while i practiced taking them out and back in.
