I have to design a pile group that does not have sufficient overburden to obtain fixity. So it looks as if I'll have to rock socket three (3) feet into bedrock. I was going to use steel H-piles, however if a drilled shaft is required in order to rock socket I'm wondering if I should just drop a rebar cage and concrete in the casing or drop the H-pile in the casing and concrete it.
I'm not really considering cost at this point.
In either case I would prefer to keep a round section to cut down on turbulence in the event of a scour condition.
Any thoughts?
