Last day for NCEES PE Exam deadline?

Hello Guys,

I failed in October 2014 and planning to write exam again in April 2015.

Confused with the things in future. Just want to know when is the last day to register?

I don't want to register for exam and miss the test with future events.

You should go to your state board's website for the refile deadline. I am in the state of California so my refile deadline is January 9, 2015, but you may have an earlier or later date.

Most likely, the multiple attempt group have a more difficult time with tests which leads to more failed attempts.

This has been covered in quite a few threads. The general consensus is that second time test takers either do not study enough, or didn't change their study methods. Here's some general advice:

1. Do not make the mistake of thinking that because you did well in a few areas the first time you are guaranteed to do well again in those areas. Prepare thoroughly for the exam. Do not skim the areas you did well the first time around.

2. Based on the diagnostic report, determine your weak areas and address the need appropriately.

3. Read through the vast amount of advice provided in this site and determine how you need to change your study methods to be successful this time around.

4. If your preparation the first time was based on working problems, maybe you didn't understand the concepts properly and therefore couldn't apply them when the question was slightly changed. Working many problems is key to passing the exam but you need to understand WHY the problem was worked that way AND why those particular formulas/values were used.

5. I did not take any prep classes but you may want to look into those.

I would say most people fail because they are weak in the following areas:

1) Understanding the scope of the question.

2) Quickly selecting an appropriate solution path.

3) Unit conversions.

Yup... Probably in that exact order, too. My suggestion is to take a review class and be very regimented with your time.
