Help will be very much appreciated if somebody can take a look of this problem.

Reza Mahalatti's Practice Exam, chapter 3 question 17 part III, where the question is to ask to calculate the area of a closed traverse.

The solution given is using criss-cross method to find the double area,

my question is...why is coordinate D eliminated from the table??

If point D is included, I calculated the area to be 15.9 acre and the answer should be B.

the solution gives answer D.

Can anybody tell me if I am missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Lung, I think you fell for the "trap". The problem statement gives you a description and information for a 5 sided parcel (AB, BC, CD, DE, EA). But, the question asks for the area bounded by 4 sides (AB, BC, CE, EA). ;)

Doh! now I feel like wanting to kick myself in the balls for not reading the problem statement close enough!

Unacceptable behavior during the exam...

Thanks for pointing out the obvious though.
