Senior Structural Engineer for our Esbjerg or Copenhagen (Ørestad) office
Do you want to be a part of a very highly qualified structural steel environment and work on some challenging structural offshore projects we are about to start? And do you have solid work experience from the design of steel structures from oil- and gas, offshore wind – or other large steel constructions like bridges, masts or similar? Reinforcement, reassessment and detail design
Your key responsibilities will be advanced global analyses, detailed local joint models as well as concept and design studies of main and secondary offshore structures. In a smaller, yet substantial part of the position, you will also act as a coach/mentor for junior employees, typically 1-3 colleagues at the time. In your mentoring role you will primarily focus on design and analysis tasks, and improve their skills through professional discussions and sparring.
Your tasks in a typically work week could consist of:
• Reinforcement/reassessment of offshore steel jackets
• Detail design of large offshore steel structures, jackets and mono-towers/monopiles, e.g. wellhead and transformer platforms
• Design and re-assessment of riser and subsea structures connecting to pipelines.
• Prepare installation and removal procedures, e.g. design of lifting appliances, preparation of lifting procedures, lifting method feasibility study using 3D CAD
• Design primary, secondary and temporary steel such as mud mats, lifting points, caissons and j-tubes, working platforms
• Prepare design documentation
As you will become part of an international team, you will also get the chance to travel internationally, typically 5-10 days per year in Norway, Middle East and India.

One of your major assets is your ability to focus on clients’ needs and satisfaction, and thereby set high standards for quality and communication to clients. Adding to that, you consistently achieve project goals via your strong skills to plan and organise. Another personal quality is your ability to collaborate across disciplines and to build good relations with clients, as well as your fellow colleagues.
In addition to your personal qualities, you possess the following skills:
• A Bachelor or Master degree in structural or mechanical engineering, PERHAPS
• Min. 5 years of experience in design of steel structures, preferably from the on- or offshore business in Scandinavia or another relevant region
• Fluent in English written & orally. Danish or Scandinavian oral/written fluency is an advantage but not a pre-requisite
• Experience as a project manager/lead engineer for design projects, including estimates and control cost, time, resources and quality is an advantage but not a requirement
• Advanced user of a 3D beam element program (e.g. ROSAP, SESAM or SACS )

The Marine Structures department consists of 45 highly skilled colleagues and is a self propelled department consisting of 5 teams including CAD, software developers and senior chief specialists to deliver high end services within offshore steel structures.
