Third time taking the exam. Been solving nothing but NCEES problems and the green Goswami book. I think I have done about 300 problems thus far. Anyone else?

Third time for me too.

This time i put together a schedule and started in July. I reviewed every section covered under the exam specifications and then just worked problem after problem. I dont know how many problems i've worked but enough to fill up 3 months of nothing but practice problems.

I also spent a lot more time reviewing and using my design standards and familiarizing myself with them.

i am more confident then ever before...but i am also more anxious then before. I guess cause it is the 3rd time and everything rides on this one. In North Carolina, if you fail it 3 times, you have to go before the state board for review and wait a year before you can take it again.

Wow. That's me to a t packman. I read the entire CERM cover to cover starting in june. Then began to work practice problems in July until yesterday. Working a practice exam tonight and tomorrow night and thats it. I feel good but scared that its a false sense of security.

First time (and I hope last) for me. I can't wait to move from Exam Prep to this section of the forum!

Good luck to everybody!

First time taking it for me, too. I took teh Chemical PE on Friday and the FE/Chem FE Saturday. Good times, good times... Now waiting for December!

I took the Civil Construction PE Friday here in Ohio. First time and hopefully last time.

How'd you guys think you did now that it's over?

I just got the email from NCEES. Wow, they are moving fast this year...

But it was just a survey.

^^ I was totally excited when I saw the email then I realized it was the survey.

Right there with you guys. I know it's not coming for over a month...but I still got excited.

As for how I feel...I think I feel pretty good, but, as per that post about the roller-coaster, I'm sure that will change over the next month.

First time taking it (Civil - Water Res / Env.). Studied my butt off for 5 months. I just keep telling myself, I'm not in the bottom 30%.

I feel pretty confident that I passed, and I don't think that's going to change over the next two months. Of course, this is only going to make it more crushing if I find out I failed.

I feel exactly the same way NinjaP. It was my second time to take the Mechanical-Thermal/Fluids Systems exam, and I felt much better than I did the first time. So yes, it will be a really bad day if I don't pass it this time.

So are you saying you think the top 70% pass? Don't think that's how it works. From the ncees website:

NCEES scores each exam with no predetermined percentage of examinees that should pass or fail.

Mike, it doesn't matter what the percentage actually is. I just keep telling myself that I made the cut.

I pitched my tent in Phase 3 which is where I plan to stay for the duration.

I'm with ya'! I think Phase 3 is the only realistic place to sit for a long period of time. It's a good place to say, "ok, sure, I know I missed a few, and I'm not overly relying on random answers to get within a passing score, but I'm fairly confident I didn't miss too many." I think this is true because if you think you missed too many, you put yourself through unneeded stress, and if you are too confident that you passed, that chance you end up failing will destroy you more than if you ready yourself for that outcome.

Or, maybe I'm analyzing it too much.

On the FE exam I went straight to Phase 4, completely convinced myself that I had failed and then promptly forgot about the exam... Until I got my result one day in the mail. I was so surprised that I had passed... I wish my brain would have done things that way again for the PE exam.

everything was still snail mail when i took the FE. I took the exam and had no clue when results would be given out. Basically forgot about it other than mentioning I took it while appling for jobs then one day after I already started working the results showed up in the mail.
