So what did you think of the PE exam yesterday, any takers?

I thought morning was fine, PM bit harder :suicide1:

Care to post all the questions your remember??

Kidding ... did you feel prepared at least? What was your study routine for PM?

@ John Q I think I would refrain from that :violin:

As for PM prep, I used Dr. Shahin Mansour's book for the most part, I did solve lots of problem which I think helped a lot.

I had 2 practice test from testmaster and NCEES test. I thought PM was harder than the NCEES practice test though.

I just ordered the Mansour book .... good? I had an older edition, which was just the AM, and I really liked how it summarized all the topics.

Was it useful for the actual exam? I'm hoping most of the lookups, tables, etc are located in this book?

I really like his book, very well organized. It helps to have all chart and tables in one reference.

Although he didn't have all the tables that were on the exam but still quite a few which was

really helpful.

I'm sure his main nuts and bolts are tight, I just got really turned off by all the sloppy misspellings/typos/errors.

I thought the exam was pretty challenging, although more so in the afternoon.

For scale, I got 75 out of 80 on the 2011 NCEES Sample Questions correct, but I'm guessing I'm sitting between 50-60 correct on the actual Exam.

@ ATRAIN I feel the same way, I am between 50 & 60 hopefully we both are in the passing zone :)

Dude ... they added this HSM now too ... it's like $700 on Amazon! I am so P.O.'d right now.

Yeah, I'm not too happy either.

I've been studying for the april 2015 water exam. This has given me a very uneasy feeling.

I'm literally sick to my stomach. I've been studying for months for this....I'm really having second thoughts on Transpo right now....the drainage went from 25% to 2 problems, Eng Econ to 1 ...problem.

Ugh .... NCEES does realize people start studying for this thing before the date of the previous test, right?

You're not alone. I went through my panic attack last night. I too have been studying for about 4 months and feel like the rug has been pulled out from under me.

Can you imagine the confusion for everyone if the old and new specification were out at the same time? It looks like they wait until the old one is no longer valid (last Friday) before they publish the new one.

It's a little ridiculous that they keep adding "references." We end up needing (or at least feeling like) we need to beg, borrow, and steal all of these manuals that should be in every transportation firm's library if they were truly "references." I wish they would limit the "references" to the Green Book, HCM, MUTCD, and maybe the RDG. That would be a far more accurate representation of practical transportation engineering references.
