Assisting with the development of innovative certification and acceptance strategies to facilitate the exploitation of COTS technologies in a military environment
Developing test and certification strategies and detailed test plans to gather evidence that demonstrates compliance with software and hardware (functional and non-functional) requirements
Maintenance of qualification plans and procedures to manage product acceptance testing
Assisting with the verification and configuration of Combat System software releases
Performing product verification and qualification testing in accordance with project schedules, processes and standards
Documenting observations and problems revealed during testing and assist with the investigation and identification of solutions
Supporting equipment and software integration trials on the submarine platform.
Participate in the identification and development of innovative Common Infrastructure solutions
As Senior Engineer – Submarine Combat System Infrastructure your skills and qualifications must include:
• Previous experience in Systems Engineering
• Requirements management experience and accompanying requirements management toolsets such as DOORS
• Experience in testing and certifying complex systems including definition of test schedules, scenarios, scripts, environments and tools.
As Senior Engineer – Submarine Combat System Infrastructure your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
• Knowledge of COTS Infrastructure, systems architecture and networks.
• Knowledge of military or aerospace engineering, certification and safety standards.
• Analysing problems encountered during testing and proposing solutions.
• Knowledge of computing systems and software engineering methods. Such as real time network and storage systems.
• Skills in test and acceptance methods appropriate to the RN Submarine Combat System can be taught by formal and on-the-job training.
