Professional Development Hours, New York

Does anyine know Iif PDH's are required during the first three years of registration (in NY)? The state web-site says "no - not required for the initial 3 year registration period", but I don't see information regarding if they can be used toward the next renewal period ( if taken now).

Has anyone used PDHonline.org for development hours? If so, what are your thoughts on the online courses? I'll need 36 hours and the NSPE has limited selection that may not meet the state's 'content criteria'.

Not sure if you can bank hours or not, I don't see why not. In WI you can where the total required hours is 30. But before the renewal period you can take up to 45 hours where 15 carry over for the next cycle. I'm guessing you could contact the board for a more definitive answer.

And FYI, I posted some other suggested sources for obtaining PDH's here. Never a bad thing to have multiple options.

those who signed up for the Georgia Tech course, will received a 3.3 CEU which equals to 33 PDH, should be suffice for most our first renewal and has enough to carry forward..but in my case Maryland

Category A has this Laws and regulations applicable to the practice of engineering in Maryland ..not sure how I can fulfill this?

I'd be surprised if they approve a class taken before becoming licensed for PDH/CPC credit. I'd be equally surprised if someone signed up for a review course right after passing (though I could see this as a possibility after many years).

I received a response from the Maryland Board, we can't use that review course to fulfill the PDH but we don't need it for the first initial 2 years. I think that what he meants.
