Thought this might be a cool topic to talk about see if we can get some feedback from other engineers. I know that not all states have their results out yet but we can still try and get this started.

FE (1st time taker Spring 2004) Casio fx-115W "Passed"

PE (1st time taker Spring 2009) TI-30XS "Hopefully Passed"

Casio fx-115MS - both FE (04) and PE (09-passed!). It is magic.

FE (1995) HP 48GX - passed

PE (hopefully this fall) - HP 33s and HP 35s

RPN all the way!!!!

I used a Casio fx-115MS for the April 2004 FE (passed), April 2008 PE (failed...) and April 2009 PE (hopefully passed). This calculator is great!

Yeah, that's a great calculator. Used it on the FE.

I actually bought a backup Casio fx-115ES for the PE. It's a little bit snazzier and also awesome.

My memory gets foggy as I get older, but I used a TI-30x for the FE spring 2004, passed first time.

TI-30xs this April 2009 for the PE exam, passed first time.

I found out yesterday I did pass the April 2009 exam using the fx-115MS...

TI-36x Solar for both EIT (October 2002) & PE (April 2008). Passed both first time.

HP35S for the Mechanical PE. Passed the first time.

FE 2003 - TI-85

PE 2009 (environmental) HP-35S

Passed both on first try. Most likely wasted money on the HP-35S though.

PE - Straight Casio bro, with a G-shock watch to keep time

That calc is nasty and cheap compared to the hp.

I used the TI-30XIIS since it was given to me. PE-April 2009 Passed.

I've used the Casio before.

If you're not down with RPN, get the Casio. It's a significantly higher quality calculator than the TI. It has more functions, and the build quality is much better. The small TI calculators work, but the buttons just aren't that responsive. You've got mash on them.

FE - TI 30X-IIS - Passed first time.

PE - hp 33s - Passed first time. I have to say that I absolutely LOVE RPN now that I've been using it for a while. When I first got the hp, I was a bit leery and constantly found myself messing up. It didn't take too long to realize the time saving ability of RPN though, and I committed to using it 100% in my studies and preparation for the exam, and now I don't like using "normal" calculators anymore. The nice thing about the hp (and I assume most RPN-capable calculators) is that there is always the option to turn RPN off if you don't like it.
