Worldwide, Spandex helps sign and graphics professionals produce full-colour wide format prints, highly customised signs and displays, durable outdoor advertising, fine art and virtually every other form of graphic communication. The Manufacturing site in Lancaster produces 7m sqm per year across two lines running on a double day shift pattern.

Job Description

The role of Quality & Process Improvement Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager will be to proactively promote continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility, working with the Operations Manager and Production teams you will support the introduction of standard operating procedures in alignment with business strategy. As the Quality Manager you will ensure the site's continued certification to ISO9001 and SHE & OH best practise's.

Main responsibilities will include -

  • Provision of trouble-shooting support to Production for the resolution of quality issues and non-conformances as required within a timely and professional manner.

Management of site's internal quality control procedures, including standard operating procedures to ensure that products are consistently manufactured and supplied to set specifications.
Lead the NPD process, working in conjunction with Spandex Group Management to identify and implement new product developments to exploit market opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be a hands-on Quality Professional who has a strong process background and a degree or equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. You will have a working knowledge of the Chemical / Plastics Industry and be fully aware of best practice on SHE and OH. You will be a self-starter, action orientated with the ability to prioritise. You will be an excellent communicator, possess good leadership skills and have knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001. A Certified 6-Sigma Green Belt would be advantageous.
