Hey mizzoueng, just remember.

EB2PASS!

I'm not an ME, so I don't know anything other than I did terrible in physics in college and switched from that (my intended major), to environmental, after realizing chemistry came easily to me.

But, I did pass the FE and PE, and I'd be happy to share any study tips I can.

yes, I have passed the FE/EIT. I took it my last year in school with 21CH's on my back. I was one of the few (like 2 or 3 out of 60) that took the Mechanical specific portion of the afternoon test.

I am currently working at a mechanical contracting company, but I will be changing jobs soon due to the fact that they are going out of business. So I am trying to get on with a firm like Burns & McDonnell to do mechanical design work (piping, etc.)

Cool!

I did the mech. contracting and controls contracting things. I'm now (as of a couple of weeks) with a small mechanical and electrical firm doing HVAC design.

I worked at Burns & Mac for 3 years out of school. Would you be in the HQ in KC?

I worked at a regional office for most of the time and then transferred to HQ in KC. I quit about 2-3 months after that. It was WAY to corporate after coming from a smaller office. If that's your thing, then you'll love it, however, if you like things laid back, then I'd shoot to get hired on in a regional office - it's much more laid back. B&M is a very good firm though.

Peace,

Edwin

Welcome mizzoueng! I'm another Tiger on the board. Just passed ME PE exam this April!

Good luck and happy job hunting.

I'm still in COMO, but the wifey and I are heading up to St. louis in a few weeks to get away from the kids. Any recommendations for night spots?

I figured we'd stop by the Moolah Theater and check it out (not sure what's playing there the weekend we're in town), do the Loop on Friday night (I have to drop off my bike at Big Shark for a tuneup) and goof around downtown, too...

Again - Welcome Aboard!

GO TIGERS! :D

Yeah actually, there is a free concert in front of the Arch Friday. Better than Ezra and Sister Hazel, me and the wife are headin' down with friends to tune in, later they have fireworks and such.

The casinos aren't bad, I prefer Ameristar and Harrah's, they seem "cleaner". Harrahs has VooDoo night club which isn't bad. They also have cage dancers  :claps:

Ameristar has a few little places to hang out and also has the blues club. There is also a place here in town called "Pops nightclub" they usually have bands (rock) play there but I think this weekend they are having a calander girl search party there, if your wife is into looking at 18-24 YO girls in teeny tiny bikinis go for it.

And then there is Laclede's Landing downtown, lots of fun and all in walking distance of hotels (in case you get a little tipsy)

Have Fun!!

Ahhh, the Fenton office is much more laid back. When I was there about 3 years ago the Fenton office was downsizing. That may not be the case anymore because B&M did really well the past few years. I worked on a few ENV remediation projects with some people from Fenton.

Good luck! I still know a few peeps at B&M, so let me know if I can help.

Peace,

Edwin :???:

Just accepted a position with Burns and McDonnell. I start 8/14 at the Manchester office, not the Fenton. Gonna be working in the energy department for a while and then moving to the HVAC division. Nice to know I got a job, now I can relax for the nest 2 weeks.

:congrats:
