I don't know how to obtain the mass balance at the mixing point  (how did they come up with that equation). I was wondering if there is info on this in the CERM.

Any help would be appreciated

(Q_final)(C_final)=(Q_1)(C_1)+(Q_2)(C_2)

I'm not sure where in the cerm that is. It is in the WRE depth manual. It would also be in a intro to environmental engineering book.

 
@Lopez FYI, that formula is on page 28-10 in the 13th edition of the CERM under "Dilution Purification."

 
Thank you, its in the same page in the 14th edition. I was seeing the pattern but I wanted to know if there was more info about this and you pointing out where is located in the CERM really helps out.
