But, you might find the "Water and Wastewater Calculations Manual" by Lin helpful (http://www.amazon.com/Water-Wastewater-Calculations-Manual-2nd/dp/0071476245/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1453382042&sr=1-1&keywords=water+and+wastewater+calculations+manual) There is a small discussion in chapter 5 on water softening. Hopefully someone smarter than me can help you here.
