[SIZE=medium]I take some grief on this every time results come out so I am hoping to preemptively notify everyone:[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]First of all this website is just run (paid for) by yours truly. Not some corporation. Therefore I rely on the gracious vendors and supporting members to keep this place open for future exam takers.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]For whatever reason I am only allowed a certain number of users within a 48 hour period. During exam results (twice a year) we receive a tremendous spike in viewership. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]So I pay a certain amount per month that allows XX users within a 48 hour window. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]Each increase is a pretty significant amount per month..[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]8 years ago it was $20/month.. today its , well it’s a good bit more than that as you can imagine…[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]So to keep me from being bumped up to the next monthly fee for this website from my providers (lets just say it would be a nice car payment) I turn the board to where it can no longer be viewed by guests and for weeks force you to log on to see the board.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]I don’t do this to make you buy a supporting membership; I only do this to keep the guests count WAY down. More than 1/2 of the guests are typically search bots anyways..[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]So that is why when results are published and the membership here spikes I have to turn the guests viewership down..[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]I’ve looked at many other options to keep the site going and for now this method works and hopefully when the PE exam goes to CBT and is offered more frequently this wont be a problem anymore..[/SIZE]
