Ok. It's about time I join and introduce myself. I just took the PE (Civil-WR), and I've been lurking on this site ever since. My family and co-workers are sick of hearing about the exam, so it looks like this is the only place I can vent about having to wait for the results.

Good luck to everyone who just took it, and thanks for setting this forum up.

I understand...my wife was sick of my bitching and moaning...about 15 mintues into dinner the evening of the exam. I still have PLENTY of bitching and moaning to vent.

welcome :wel

yeah my family has gotten tired of hearing about the exam as well...

I can talk about anything I want until I'm blue in the face, my wife ignores all of it, so the exam discussion is done here as well for me.

WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!

I quit talking about it around the house. Nobody understands what the hell I'm talking about anyway. This board (and occasionally the other) are the only forum I've got of discussing the process without getting absurd comparisons to nursing exams and the like.

I don't bitch about the exam much anymore here either, I'm all bitched out. I'll get my results in a couple of months and I'll either be really happy or I'll take it again in April. :beerchug

I agree...I have gotten some really ridiculous comments made by individuals comparing their attendence certificate at some stupid seminar as being somewhat equal to a PE license.

We all feel that pain. I have been catching @#$%^& from family, friends, and co-workers about what I have or have not done to pass this exam. Good luck, for all of us.

Metro --

I feel your pain too !! My wife just passed the NCLEX (Registered Nurse) exam in June (She graduated in May). She was able to schedule the exam at a testing center within 2 weeks of graduation, took a 4-hr computerized exam, had the results within 3 days. :true:

Then she looks at me like .. :wtf:

Regards,

JR

That would piss me off. NO attendance certificate is the same as passing an 8 hour test.

Hey metroRAFB, it's nice to see someone from middle GA on the site. My parents met at RobinsAFB, and I grew up in Macon. What depth did you take?

HVAC

I worked for a civilian contractor on RAFB for 3years. I went to Mercer and lived in Macon, then Warner Robins for a total of 10years. 4 years ago my wife and I moved back to our hometown in Central FL for family and work reasons. I miss the GA weather, it's too **** hot here for too long. There's only about 3 months out of the year that you can comfortably do stuff outside. During the summer, if you're not swimming you're better off inside. I've still got contacts and friends in Middle GA, it's a nice place to live.

THanks for the replies. I'll try not to bitch too much. And I'm done analyzing all my answers (I can't remember the questions anymore). Everyone keeps telling me to just forget about it until I get the results. THat's not happening, so it's nice to hang out with people feeling just as anxious as me!

And it's nice to be able to see all these little emoticons -- very funny. Any other guests out there ought to consider joining just for that.

Yeah, if you wanna bitch about the CPA or the Bar exam, or gloat a little for passing it, go right ahead.

But spare me the aggravation of hearing about how you can put these fancy new letters after your name because you sat through a 2 hour seminar or paid some registration dues.

We hired some landscape architect recently who puts ASLA after her name. It doesn't mean she passed anything, just that she joined a professional society.

I'm a member of ASCE, and you don't see me putting that after my name.

LMAO! Maybe RoadGuy would be so kind as to create a designation we could all put behind our names for being members of this board? :tone:

I'll have to ask the council of elders...

we had toyed with the idea of starting a new engineering society, once that wasnt so dull as NSPE / ASCE / etc..

then wikipedia deleted the engineerboards.com listing and we lost all momentum :(

I have a Bachelor's of Science but have always lacked the balls to put BS after my name on a business card :true:

DV's a BS in BS, so he says.

I know a recruiter for a recruiting firm that's a spinoff from a relatively large engineering firm. He has an associates (2 year community college) degree in something and puts this after his name:

CPC, CTS, CSP

It looks a little silly.

I think Certified Personnel Consultant, ???, ???

I saw who was a foodservice consultant put FCSI after his name for "Foodservice Consultant Society International". So he's a member of an association?

A little embarassingly silly if you ask me.
