Can any one help me with this problem ? DC source of 48 volts , The power on load side 1.5 KW , The conductor is a copper coated of size 10AWG , 7 stranded wires of 25' length rated 75 C . The question is what is voltage drop across the load( IZ load) , My understanding that I need the divide the power over the voltage to get the current P(watt)= V(volt) I ( amp) and to get the resistance of the copper from table 8 in NEC reference which is 1.26 ohm per 1000 ft ( why not the 1.29 ohm ) the lower value I am not sure and multiply it by 25 ' mentioned in the problem to get the conductor total resistance .
My question is mentioned that the conductor is 7 stranded wires is a herring or should I multiply this resistance by 7 also in addition to 25/1000 , which will lead to calculate the total Z ( load + conductor) properly . I appreciate any input .
